700? and Work in Progress...

Uough! Ough! 

The Jungle has reached 700 Followers on the blog - wohow! Many thanks to all jungle tourists visiting us regularly. We didn't expect this going so fast and honestly we are caught a bit off duty - we are already preparing our Jungle Celebration Party for the 700 - a miniature to win again - more about it as soon as possibe :)

Meanwhile I just can tell you about my Work in Progress Projects - there are a lot. It is the joy of painting i do at the moment and articles that i prepare. You can fasten your kilts because of those articles. At the moment i am writing the big "Using Oil and Acrylic Colour together" article and i can say that this seems to become a book after much experience is made so far in the jungle.

Work in Progress some explanation words - i can say that the Tyranids vs. Ultras thing will not be icecold - i guess this was a good decision or the snow would have killed the overall impression and dramatic of the Marines in the focus of the scene. The Marine bust i was asked about several times is just Brother Artemis by Games Workshop's Inquisitor, a 54 Marine who i made a bust of. The Spanish Admiral bust is done on comission and will soon be finished - for sure his face will get a way warmer tone - i will do that later on with oil colours. Peter is with me painting these days and he is doing a nice and strange JMD Miniature. The Grinder bust by Roberto Chaudon will be fullfilled as a Dark Elf in my vision. Still doing experiments with Acrylics and Oil here - it feels the article never ends :) - Fisherman's friend will be soon finished too - it's the Guild of Harmony model, gently converted and a gift to some real nice people i know.

Hey everyone!

At the moment painting is pure fun and relaxation to me... as i'm on a training for my soon to come business i'm really exhausted when coming home... it's nice to know that my girlfriend and roman are waiting for me every day :) aaaaaaand of course miniatures!

At the moment i'm working on the wonderful pirate bust from JMD.
I started painting him with oils, it's so much fun to work more intuitive with oils... :)
Right now i'm working on the final details with acrylics....

The photo is pretty bad... on the next one you see his tattoo... maybe you recognize it! :)

Also i made a new base for my demon prince...

Aaaand last but not least something that will still take some time :)

Retrieve the Relic by all costs... WIP

Now comes a little talk about a project i am finally working on again.

I seem in the mood to close some old cases and there is someone waiting for 5 Ultramarine Heroes retrieving a holy Ultramarine Relic from a dark Tyranid infected planet... The Marines have been finished during the last years. So there is some kind of difference in the models when it comes to the styles painted. In the end i want to make sure that everything fits together and i already started to the rework on the marines. The latest shown big base will be the place to be for the Brothers of Ultramar and i did attach some Tyranids yesterday to bring more dramatic into the scene. The socket this piece is done upon comes from Sockelmacher.de. I really appreciate this socket as it invites you to do a big scene with much BAAM!

The basework ?s mainly done, for sure snow and icicles are still missing and is It is already primed and after some chat with the comissioner there will be a snowy and windy athmosphere with some icicles... here are some Work in Progress shot - i am looking forward to use the Airbrush now for a first colour go after this posting. I hope you don't mind many photos of this Work in Progress - such photos always help me to get a better feeling for the scene or just see something from a very nice angle...

Cleaning and preparing...

The last weeks have been so great... a time full of friendship and dedication to our passion.
I did need 3 days now to find all my stuff again and clean my workbench. Ay! And somebody did forget one sock here at mine :D

I also have to tell you great news about my own collection of Miniatures. I did recieve a little Gnoblar Gift by Raffa, a great Mountain Gorilla by Kurti and the great model "Valhalla" by my friend Andrea as miniature exchanges. Many thanks my friends - this really stunned me away in another dimension... in the front you can see "La Vie en Rose", painted by Anna, my lady with the supermegacool white socket :)

I am already starting to pack sold or comissioned miniatures for shipment. Most of my work will now go to collectors and friends, so my finished project area will be free for new stuff again. Shortly before the Duke of Bavaria i did finish the 90 mm Pegaso Gladiator and finally the 75 mm Arkvenger, also by Pegaso. There are only very bad photos of the Arky at the moment as we did them at Saturday morning with way too much morning sun in the room. Arky is already in Italy, he was travelling with italian friends after the Event in Ingolstadt. Maybe i will have a chance of better photos in the future, in fact i am really in a need to as i will finish to write the Step by Step article.

So saying goodbye to my projects starts now.
Robert? I guess the sock is yours as you also did forget your birthday present ;D

This socket by Sockelmacher will be next - it will be a base with some Games Workshop action going on...

Tomorrow at the Duke of Bavaria someone has to awake our souls from our deep zombie mode as it seems we will work the whole night through... hell yeah i am looking forward to it :)

This might be the last posting of Work in Progress as we are launching the final phase of our projects and only the mighty jungle gods might know when we get sleep again. Robert is getting serious after we engrafted another brain in his head, the rest is the same madness, pumped up with Mati, madness like everyday with another guest to come tonight :)

I got many emails to answer - please be patient - i will do so next week and get back to you all with a response - sorry busy times this week, many thanks for your patience.
